Our Vision

The vision of Hogar de Vida is not simply to care for children, but to raise children who know they are loved by God, understand who Jesus is, and carry that truth with them for the rest of their lives.

We believe that when a child experiences love, stability, and faith lived out daily, it can change not only their life, but the families and communities they will one day return to.

Our goal is not just to change a child’s circumstances for a few years, but to change the direction of their life through the love of Christ.

More Than a Children’s Home

Hogar de Vida was never meant to be an institution. From the beginning, the vision was to create homes—places where children are known, loved, disciplined, encouraged, and raised in a family environment.

Children live in small, family-style homes with consistent caregivers who become like family. They attend local schools, learn responsibility, participate in daily routines, and grow up in an environment where faith is part of everyday life, not just something taught in a classroom.

We want every child who comes to Hogar de Vida to experience what a healthy home can look like—so that one day they can build homes like that themselves.

Raising Children Who Know Christ

At the center of everything we do is our faith in Jesus Christ.
We believe every child is created by God with purpose and value, no matter their past or circumstances.

Children at Hogar de Vida grow up:

  • Hearing Bible stories
  • Praying together
  • Going to church
  • Learning forgiveness, responsibility, and love
  • Being reminded that their life has purpose
  • Knowing that their past does not define their future

Our prayer is that when children leave Hogar de Vida, they do not just leave with education, food, and shelter—but with faith, identity, and hope that comes from knowing Christ.

Changing Families for the Future

Many of the children who come to Hogar de Vida will eventually return to family members, extended family, or their communities. Our hope is that they do not return as the same children who arrived, but as young people who have experienced love, stability, structure, and faith.

We believe that when a child’s life is changed, the impact does not stop with that child. It can change families, future marriages, parenting, and entire communities.

Our vision is not only to care for children today, but to see lives, families, and futures changed through Christ for generations.

The Heart of Hogar de Vida

Everything we do—homes, education, nutrition programs, mission teams, and partnerships with churches—exists for one purpose:

That children would know they are loved by God, come to know Jesus, and carry that faith and love into the homes and communities they will one day return to.
